We’ve recently noticed an increase in the popularity of bridge style kitchen faucets. Typically associated with just traditional themes, today there are a variety of options available when it comes to style. They really can work well in just about any kitchen design scheme.
From traditional to even contemporary, your design preference won’t get in the way of finding the right faucet. However, choosing a bridge faucet goes beyond simple aesthetics.
Things to consider when choosing your bridge style kitchen faucet:
Take mount into consideration. Some homeowners are concerned that the height of a bridge faucet does not allow for easy cleanup. If height is a concern, consider a wall mounted version. Wall mount bridge faucets can be installed behind the sink at any preferred height. With a wall mount faucet you can also enjoy the additional counter space for storing soaps, sponges, etc. Keep in mind that wall mount faucets require planning ahead as the water needs to be sourced from behind the wall.
Another important factor is the number of holes your sink has; this will determine what kind of bridge faucet you can buy. Bridge style kitchen faucets come in either two or three hole configurations, four if you want to add an accessory such as a coordinating sprayer or soap dispenser.
Should you accessorize? Many homeowners opt to install a sprayer with their bridge style faucets for easier pot cleaning and versatility when it comes to faucet reach (read all about faucet reach here). Most faucet collections will have a coordinating sprayer option.
